Participating ensembles are encouraged to set their own schedule and pace their time as they see fit. Each group has its own dedicated studio in which to work.
The studios are spacious and include a sitting area as well as ample rehearsal space. Five of the studios have pianos, one has a harpsichord, and there is a sixth piano in the Common Room which serves as a social space as well as an informal concert venue.
There are also nine individual practice rooms in the basement of one of the residence buildings, and bedrooms are sound-proofed for practice use as well. Avaloch provides chairs and music stands, as well as some electronic equipment for use by resident musicians.
