IN SEASON RECORDING

During our regular summer Avaloch residency season, we will offer a limited number of 4-hour recording sessions in the concert barn space, for any musicians/ensembles that have been accepted for a residency. After the summer residencies have been awarded, these recording spots will be offered first come, first served to musicians/ ensembles that have confirmed their attendance at Avaloch. To ensure the opportunity for as many groups as possible, you can only sign up for one evening of recording (this is an opportunity for creating short videos or a short demo with your ensemble, but not a full length album.) If ensembles wish to engage the services of resident sound engineer Mike Harmon, they may contact him to inquire about availability and rates at operations@avalochfarmmusic.org.

OFF SEASON RECORDING

Avaloch is now available for winter/spring recording projects, during non-residency months. Recording residencies can be reserved on a daily or weekly basis, and can involve any combination of the following, depending on the ensemble’s budget:

  • The insulated, temperature regulated 1440 sqft soft pine concert barn space with access to a Steinway Concert D grand piano, recently rebuilt by Cantabile Piano Arts (piano tunings are the responsibility of the musician/ensemble)

  • Lodging for musicians, with access to a kitchen.

  • Access to an additional rehearsal space with a grand piano

  • Possibility to work with Avaloch’s resident sound engineer (dependent on his availability) Mike Harmon, from Wachussett Recording.

Part of our longterm fundraising efforts involve raising funds to be able to provide recording opportunities for all artists on a sliding scale. However, at the moment, please understand that we are unable to provide any financial assistance or discounts for recording projects.

For more details regarding our recording residencies, please contact Mike Harmon at operations@avalochfarmmusic.org.
